Following "Winterreise" (SIGCD531) sung by Roderick Williams and "Swan Song" (SIGCD550) by John Tomlinson, the third recording in this series features "The Beautiful Watermill Girl" with Nicky Spence as tenor. The translation of Wilhelm Müller's poem is by British director and author Jeremy Sams. Nicky Spence is one of Scotland's most promising tenors, who won a double Gramophone & BBC Music Magazine Award for her Janacek song cycle (CDA68282) and was named "Young Singer of the Year" at the 2015 International Opera Awards.He has been nominated Singer of the Year by the Royal Philharmonic Society and continues to be active on the international opera scene. Christopher Glynn has been praised for his "breathtaking sensitivity" (Gramophone UK) and "perfect fusion of voice and piano" (BBC Music Magazine).
