Description:
Formed in Nashville in 1988 by late guitarist DANNY AMIS of the neo-surf rock combo RAYBEATS, who emerged from the NO WAVE scene around 8-Eyed Spy and the Contortions, this masked four-piece has recently been active in co-writing and touring with NICK LOWE. The band features CESAR ROSAS of LOS LOBOS, rockabilly singer BIG SANDY, and LITTLE WILLIE G, who was the vocalist of MALO, a Latin rock band. It is a passionate tribute to the garage and rockabilly of the 60's in Mexico City.The 14 songs include the classic instrumental "WHITTIER BOULEVARD" by THEE MIDNIGHTERS, which is so famous among garage lovers (LITTLE WILLIE G is also the vocalist of THEE MIDNIGHTERS), "ALL DAY AND ALL OF THE NIGHT" by the Kinks, "POISON IVY" by the Coasters, and many more. The Kinks' "ALL DAY AND ALL OF THE NIGHT," the Coasters' "POISON IVY," and many other R&R/R&B classics are covered in Spanish on this 14-track album.
