A rare recording from a small jazz club in Massachusetts in 1985, this is a remarkable work that captures the passionate performance of Herbie S. (b), Mike Stern (g), and Alan Dawson (ds). For five years in the mid-1980s, the 1369 Club in Cambridge, Massachusetts was a thriving and vibrant jazz club that attracted a diverse clientele, from jazz novices to seasoned veterans. Performers were diverse, and the club's frequent open jam sessions, featuring local musicians and nationally known top jazz artists, were very popular. This is a live recording of three days of intense and unforgettable performances in 1985 by Miles Davis Group alumni, guitarist Mike Stern, bassist Harvey S., and drummer Alan Dawson, who was based in Boston at the time. This is the soundtrack. Herbie S. later learned that the concert had been recorded, and he and Bernie Fields, president of Savant Records, obtained the rights to release the recordings. This is truly a rare find.The recording features seven songs, and the band performs well-known and well-known songs in front of a lively audience, with Herbie S., Mike Stern, and Alan Dawson performing at their best, capturing the peak of their abilities. The recording is in excellent condition, and the performances are truly a wonderful record of the three musicians in their fuller years.
