Robert Fripp, the famous guitarist/artist who still leads the band as the core of KING CRIMSON, released his first solo album "Frippertronics" in 1979, after the breakup of KING CRIMSON in 1974 and after participating in the works of big-name artists such as David Bowie and Peter Gabriel. The '79 album, which was his first step as a solo artist, presented Frippertronics, the basis of his g-playing, and also showed the foundation of CRIMSON's sound up to the present day. This box set includes "EXPOSURES", a huge amount of unreleased/live material in 32 discs (25 CDs + 3 DVDs + 4 Blu-rays). This box contains not only "EXPOSURE"/Frippertronics, but also the definitive collection of Robert Fripp's activities from 1977 to 1983, systematically arranged in chronological order. Discs 1-3 contain the first-ever loop recordings of "EXPOSURE"/Frippertronics, and Disc 4 contains "EXPOSURES" and "MY LIFE IN THE BUSH OF GHOSTS" (co-written by David Byrne and Brian Eno in 1981), in which Fripp participated as an arranger. THE BUSH OF GHOSTS" in 1981, which was co-written by David Byrne/Brian Eno and arranged by Fripp.Disc 5 is a prelude to "EXPOSURE," an album that was considered for release as part of a trilogy along with Daryl Hall's "SACRED SONGS" and Peter Gabriel's "II," but the release was postponed due to the label's decision at the time. This is the first release of this album except for a few tracks released on DGMLIVE. Disc 6 contains the "First Edition" version, remastered in '06 with the same songs/mixes as when it was released in '79, and the original tape loop of "Here Comes The Flood" (never before released), and Disc 7 contains the "Third Edition" version of the same album, an '83 remix featuring vocals from Dary Hall/Terre Roche and adding songs from the aforementioned "SACRED SONGS"/"II". Disc 7 contains the "Third Edition" of the same album, a remixed version from '83 featuring vocals by Dary Hall/Terre Roche, plus the aforementioned song from "SACRED SONGS"/"II", remastered in '06, and a previously unreleased mixed version of 'Here Comes The Flood'. Disc 8/9 features the latest version of "EXPOSURE", the "Fourth Edition", based on the "First Edition" but with new remixes and some vocal parts replaced by Steven Wilson, and the "Alternative Edition" with vocals by Daryl Hall. Discs 10-13 feature live recordings from Frippertronics' '78 NYC/'79 Copenhagen, Paris, and Montreal shows. Disc 14 includes the '80 album "God Save the Queen / Under Heavy Manners," the first time the album has been released on CD as a stand-alone album, using the latest remastering from the original master tapes, plus previously unreleased tracks from the sessions for the album. Discs 15/16 include the "Under Heavy Manners" part, a new remix by Steven Wilson, and session/unreleased material from the same period. (1/2)
