A tribute to the great jazz guitarist Pat Martino by 14 jazz guitarists including Kurt Rosenwinkel and Oz Noy, who put their greatest love into this tribute. Fourteen talented guitarists gathered together to honor his brilliant achievements, in which he was even called the god of jazz guitar due to his insatiable inquisitiveness and stoic attitude. Martino was born in Philadelphia in 1944. Born in Philadelphia in 1944, Martino was discovered as a young man by some of the greatest artists of the day, and in the early 60s, at the age of under 20, he played with Willis Jackson and fellow countryman Don Patterson, and in 1965 he joined Jack McDuff's band, replacing his contemporary George Benson (43 years). He was a major player on the prestigious Prestege label, one of the three major jazz labels, which was "unrivaled in its soulful productions".In 1980, at the height of his popularity, he underwent surgery for a brain aneurysm and lost his memory of his guitar and his previous musical career, but with the support of relatives, computer assistance, and by listening to his own previous recordings, he recovered his former memory and returned in 1987. He remained active until 2018, and before Martino's death in November 2021, he and his many contributions to jazz were honored with a project called the Alternative Guitar Summit, in which selections from his imaginative and diverse catalog of compositions were performed by 14 jazz guitarists performed. Produced by Joel Harrison, a guitarist/singer/composer with a genre-less musical style. The lineup includes Oz Noy, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and other leading jazz guitarists of our time.
