Description:
Larry Coryell and Philip Katerine, two of the leading guitarists in Europe and the United States, will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the recording of "Twin House," a duo album featuring the two leading guitarists in Europe and the United States, by presenting the last recording of "Twin House" by ACT founder Sigi Loch Coryell, who was also the producer of the album. This is the last recording of the two guitarists, Larry Coryell, born in 1943, and Philippe Katerine, born in 1942, who performed together at the Berlin Philharmonic in 2017. They performed as members of the Eleventh House, led by Larry Coryell, at the same venue in 1976. They recorded "Twin House" in London in 1977 and "Splendid" in Hamburg in 1978 as a duo. The duo has toured extensively in Europe, North and South America, and has also performed with Charles Mingus as a member of his band. The man behind the collaboration is none other than Sigi Loch, the founder and producer of the ACT label. This album was planned by Sigi to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the recording of "Twin House," and is a piece of jazz history. The opening track is "Miss Julie," which was the opening of "Twin House. Just listening to this performance, one gets a good impression of the respect both guitarists have for each other over time.Listening to songs such as the bossa nova classic "Carnival Morning" was heartwarming as the two guitars, Coriel's acoustic and Katelyn's electric, engaged in thoughtful conversation, front to back, cutting and soloing. In the second half, Jan Lundgren on piano and Lars Danielsson on bass joined Katelyn for a duo with Lundgren and Koriel for a duo with Danielsson. Paolo Friess, one of Europe's leading trumpeters, will also join them for the last part of the concert. After the performance of the famous song "Green Dolphin Street," the audience gave a warm round of applause. Larry Coryell would have passed away four weeks later, so this was a kind of fateful project. This is a performance and work that also has a sense of drama because Sigi Loch has created the history of jazz together with its musicians.
