Iranian guitarist Mahan Miralab’s ACT debut! With roots in the capital city of Tehran and now based in Vienna, Miralab is a one-of-a-kind artist who masterfully plays a custom-made double-neck guitar featuring both fretless and fretted fingerboards. He fuses traditional Middle Eastern sounds with modern jazz, making his instrument sing like the human voice. This album represents the most personal work of his career, a project in which he delved deep into his own introspection and entrusted his genuine emotions to sound. The lineup of collaborators includes ACT veteran Lars Danielsson and world-renowned cellist Kian Sortani, who has released works on the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label. Miralab states, “I aimed for an honest musical language that strips away complexity and brings deep emotions to the surface.” The 12 tracks, including a cover of Joe Zawinul’s “In a Silent Way,” form a beautiful yet poignant sonic journey that gives tangible form to feelings that defy words.
