A gentle and beautiful family relaxation with clever music selections and performances This is an album of music written for the familiar instruments of violin, viola, and piano, which Mozart himself and his relatives might have played, and performed by the Kuiken family in a luxurious atmosphere. The performances have a relaxed atmosphere, but the selections are clever and varied, with a unique charm that is a combination of gentle tones and solid knowledge. Sara Kuiken and Marie Kuiken are Sigiswald's daughters. The Violin and Viola Duet, in which both instruments are treated with perfect equality and an extremely concerted dialogue unfolds, is a gem that shows how well Mozart knew each instrument. The Fantasy for piano, written in the key of D minor, a special key for Mozart, is a deep, dark, yet energetic piece of music that can be heard in the string quartet, piano concerto, and requiem. The Kegelstadt Trio was originally written for clarinet, viola, and piano in E-flat major, the symbol of Freemasonry. On this CD, the clarinet is played in a version with the clarinet transposed to fit the range of the violin.This was the more common composition and may have been easier to penetrate. The fortepiano is a faithful copy of an instrument made by Johann Andreas Stein around 1785. This instrument is comparable in size to a harpsichord of the same period.
