A 2LP set by THE BOLSHOI, a London band that created a number of melancholic songs with sexy vocals, is now available! The fourth album, tentatively titled "Country Life," was recorded. Tentatively titled Country Life, the album was released in 2015 as part of a limited 5-CD box set, and now, for the first time, Beggars Banquet is available on vinyl! The album features 15 digitally restored demo tracks recorded for the third album, which only existed on cassette, and 16 newly recorded tracks, including "Dolores Jones" by vocalist Trevor Tanner. Bolshoi's dark, subversive sound was categorized by critics as "gothic" at the time of their debut, but in fact it sounds as if they were just "playing" with the gothic. Their melancholy, pensive lyrics combined with inventive pop guitar make them nearly impossible to classify.Underlying the surreal lyrics that told the stories of characters on the fringes of society were boredom, lack of substance, and violence. With their powerful live shows, Bolshoi gained a large fan base before disbanding in 1988.
