Tubeway Army, the group formed by British synth-pop pioneer Gary Numan, who was strongly influenced by Ultravox and John Foxx, released their second album "Replicas" in 1979, The 40th anniversary edition of Replicas, newly composed of early versions, outtakes, demo versions, etc., is now released in 2CD/2LP format from Beggars Arkive! The album, a techno-pop classic, was recorded in London's Chinatown at the end of 1978, with 11 songs recorded on two stereo master tapes, and released a month later at Gooseberry Studios, with additional tracks including "Are 'Friends' Electric? and "Replicas" at Gooseberry Studios a month later. At the same time, another version of these three songs recorded for the BBC's "John Peel Show" was also included. The 2LP import version will be released on sage green vinyl.
