From the vast catalog of the legendary metal label Roadrunner Records, albums by Sepultura—the titans of tribal thrash; Machine Head—the cornerstone of Bay Area thrash; Opeth—the pinnacle of modern progressive metal—and Korn—the undisputed king of modern heaviness—are being reissued one after another on vinyl! ◆First up is *Beneath the Remains*, the 1989 worldwide debut album released by Sepultura—Brazil’s pride and joy of tribal thrash—on Roadrunner Records. This album fuses thrash— death metal with Brazilian tribal beats and hardcore sounds to pioneer a new style, *ARISE*, released in 1991, and the 1996 masterpiece *ROOTS*, which solidified their unique “tribal heaviness” sound—these three albums, Machine Head—who reigns with an overwhelming presence as a central figure in the Bay Area thrash metal scene—released *THEMORETHINGSCHANGE...* in 1997, featuring heavy riffs that attack like a battle tank; Sweden’s pinnacle of modern prog metal, Opeth’s 2014 masterpiece *Pale Communion*, which seamlessly blends abyssal stillness with raging ferocity; and Korn—who reign over the scene with an overwhelming presence as a leading figure of modern heaviness—with their 2010 release on Roadrunner Records, *KORN III: REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE*, released via Roadrunner Records; the 2011 album *THE PATH OF TOTALITY*, which stunned the scene by being one of the first to incorporate dubstep; 2016’s *The Serenity of Suffering*, and 2019’s *The Nothing*—a total of six albums!
