The Complete Masters," a commemorative work commemorating the 50th anniversary of the release of John Coltrane's immortal masterpiece "The Greatest Love," a jazz milestone, has finally been released! The Complete Masters, which includes all the previously unreleased takes and overdubs from the two sessions, is finally available after 50 years. !!!! Featuring a wealth of rare photographic material from the iconic recording session, John Coltrane and his quartet (Elvin Jones, Jimmy Garrison and McCoy Tyner) entered the legendary Van Gelder Studio in New Jersey on December 9, 1964, to record "The Complete Masters," the first of two previously unreleased sessions that would become part of the "The Complete Masters" series. The Love Supreme" - a four-part suite that has influenced countless musicians and reached the jazz world and the hearts of generations of music lovers alike. And, what is less known is that the quartet plus Archie Shepp and second bassist Dr. Art Davis returned to the studio the next day to record the opening part of the suite. The entirety of those two days is finally unleashed in this album.Includes all takes, overdubs, plus studio chatter! The film uses reels from John Coltrane's personal collection, but the original recordings were made at Rudy Van Gelder Studios, and Rudy Van Gelder's detailed, new liner notes provide written confirmation of these lost sessions. Now that all the recordings that exist can be included, the full story of "The Greatest Love" can be revealed for the first time. The deluxe edition of the album released in 2002 includes a few songs from the second session, but this is the first time that "Acknowledged Love" has been released in its entirety. The 2CD version includes all six takes of "Acknowledgement," as well as seven previously unreleased performances from the original album and two previously unreleased tracks from Luthrane's own two tracks plus two sessions.The 32-page booklet includes an essay by Ashley, Kahn, a noted producer and instructor and author of "A Love Supreme: The Story of John Coltrane's Signature Album," as well as rare photos taken during the sessions, The book also includes a music score written by Coltrane.
