Released on Verve Records in 1958, this is a rare collaboration between two contrasting yet complementary jazz masters: the cool-toned tenor saxophonist Stan Getz and the powerful Oscar Peterson Trio.
Produced by Norman Granz and recorded in Hollywood in October 1957, the session features Getz with veterans of what was already regarded as one of the most cohesive rhythm sections in jazz: Peterson on piano, Libert Ellis on guitar, and Ray Brown on bass. He was joined by Peterson on piano, guitarist Libert Ellis, and bassist Ray Brown.Although there is no drummer on the group, the group maintains a light, propulsive swing, giving Getz room to showcase his abilities to the fullest on standards and originals such as "I Want to Be Happy," "Tour's End," and "Bronx Blues."
