Description:
Grammy Award-winning producer/composer/guitarist/songwriter Blake Mills is back with a new album! co-written with Brattleboro, Vermont-based songwriter Chris Weisman. Mills discovered Weisman through a friend while working on his previous album, Notes with Attachments, released in 2021, which was critically acclaimed with bassist Pino Palladino. A composer/jazz musician/conceptual artist, Wiseman has released more than 35 albums in just 10 years. Mills contacted him immediately, and the two soon began collaborating on material via email. The first project was a song for Amazon Prime's acclaimed limited series, "When Daisy Jones & the Six Were Seriously the Best." Mills became the executive music director and primary songwriter for the series, writing and producing all the original songs for the show and the accompanying play-by-play band record, Aurora.He worked closely with singer-songwriter and guitarist Wiseman, who worked closely with other acclaimed musicians to create it. He then produced this work in the spring of 2022. Engineer and frequent Mills collaborator Joseph Lorge (Bob Dylan, Phoebe Bridgers) recorded and co-mixed the album.
