Live recordings for WNEW-FM radio broadcast in 1969 are now available on 2LP! Recorded at the legendary Woodstock concert on August 17, 1969. Woodstock, the origin of rock festivals, was held in August 1969 and soon shocked the world as one of the "most important events of the 60's" in the history of popular music and subcultures. The three-day Woodstock festival, August 15-18, 1969, was actually held on a 600-acre (over 242 hectares) dairy farm in Bethel, Sullivan County, New York, about 50 miles from Woodstock. The Woodstock Festival, which drew more than 400,000 people, featured a lineup that included THE BAND, CSN&Y, JOAN BAEZ, GRATEFUL DEAD, JIMI HENDRIX, JANIS JOPLIN, SANTANA, SLY & THE FAMILY STONE, THE WHO, CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL, JEFFERSON AIRPLANE, and many more. THE WHO finally took the stage around dawn on Sunday, August 17, after a delay of two days, and this video captures the entirety of their legendary performance, some of which can be heard on the 1979 soundtrack release "THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT".With "TOMMY" just released in May, the band performed "AMAZING JOURNEY" to "SPARKS" with PETE's guitar going off, "SEE ME, FEEL ME" which was included in the movie "Woodstock: Three Days of Love, Peace, and Music", and many others with loud action and intense performance. The album is filled with passionate young performances with flashy action.
