Norah Jones will celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut next year with the first holiday album of her career! In April of this year, Norah Jones released her first career live album, "Till We Meet Again. Nearly 20 years after the release of her debut album, Norah Jones is still going strong with her first career Christmas album, "I Dream of Christmas," which features nine Grammy Award-winning covers of classic Christmas tunes along with original holiday-themed songs. The album features original holiday-themed songs interspersed with covers of Christmas classics, and playful nods to Nora Jones in the lyrics, such as "Jolly Jones" (Jolly is a word often used during the Christmas season, a synonym for "happy"). Jolly" is a word often used during the Christmas season.The cover songs are classics that everyone has heard at least once, such as "White Christmas" and "Christmas Wonderland," arranged with Nora's smoky voice and gentle piano. Produced by Leon Mitchells, who had played tenor saxophone on "It Was You" from "Begin Again" and "Say No More" and "To Live" from "Pick Me Up Off The Floor," the album includes "Christmas The album includes the songs "Christmas Time" and "You're Not Alone" with Nora as co-writers. The reason for releasing a Christmas album at this time, the 20th anniversary of their debut next year, is that they wanted to express their wish to be able to gather their loved ones for the holidays this year in the midst of the recent difficulties they are facing with the new coronavirus. The original songs express Nora's honest feelings, ranging from the complexity of the past few years to the joys of the present.
