A collection of J.D. Zelenka's trio sonatas performed by a terrific ensemble! The Karakaton Ensemble, a group of highly skilled musicians, performs No. 3 and No. 5 from the "Six Trio Sonatas", one of the masterpieces of Jan Dismas Zelenka (1679-1745), a composer who worked under the Elector of Saxony and left a solid mark in Dresden, the same period as J.S. Bach. Originally, No. 3 was performed with one violin and one oboe, but in this recording, as in the other sonatas, it is performed with two oboes, paying homage to Zelenka's musical concepts and the unique worldview underlying them through their unique approach. The Kulturetone Ensemble is an ensemble belonging to the Kulturetone Foundation, based in Vács, Hungary.Clara Dent, principal oboe of the Rundfunk Symphonieorchester Berlin and soloist with Rattle & the Berlin Philharmonic, Marie-Louise Modersohn, who became principal oboe of the Deutsches Symphonieorchester Berlin at the age of 20 and is currently principal of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, Benze Boghani, principal bassoonist with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, and Jolt Fejerwari, principal double bass with the Budapest Festival Orchestra. Bentze Bogani, principal bassoonist with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra; Jord Fejervary, principal double bass with the Budapest Festival Orchestra; and Brigitte Engelhardt, a leading keyboard player and professor at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg.
