In the mid-16th century, the situation of Gregorian chant in Europe changed dramatically. The Council of Trier resolved to unify the previously disparate styles of the Mass. Although the music was not taken up at this council, various efforts were made to change the lyrics and retain the original melody due to the change in the liturgical text. This album recreates the Hungarian Gregorian chant of the time. Tokyo M-Plus
