Description:

The setting is the Ukrainian city of Lviv, which has been at the mercy of history. Paderewski's "complete" LP version of "Poland" is now available, with three double bass salusophones and a trutonion (thunder machine)! The complete Polish LP version! Located only 70 km from the Polish border, the western Ukrainian city of Lviv has been at the mercy of history, having been ruled by Poland and the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the past, occupied by German troops, and annexed to the former Soviet Union. The Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra, an orchestra based in this World Heritage-listed city that combines the cultures of many different countries, has recorded "Symphony Op.24" by the Polish master Paderewski, a very interesting project from a historical point of view! The project has been realized! Paderewski was the poet of the piano, the most distinguished composer-pianist in Poland after Chopin, and a great politician who served as the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland. One of Paderewski's last works as a composer, before he became a full-fledged politician, Symphony Op. 24 is known as one of the most representative Polish symphonies of the early 20th century, with a playing time of over 60 minutes. Polish maestro Bohdan Boguszewski decided to use three contrabass salusophones and a tortonion (Paderewski's own thunder machine) to faithfully reproduce Paderewski's vision. Furthermore, in the second movement, "Cantilena," the performance was changed to include the entire first violin section instead of only the concertmaster, resulting in a performance that can truly be called a complete version. Paderewski's "Poland" is performed on a grand scale by the orchestra of Lviv, which developed as a trading center and has been embroiled in a struggle for control, and a Polish conductor. This is a new recording that you should pay attention to! Tokyo M-Plus
