Description:

A valuable collection of works for trombone by Sellocki, a composer from his native Poland, performed by a young master trombonist! A collection of works for trombone by Serocki, one of the leading composers of 20th century Polish music! DUX, one of the largest independent labels in Poland, presents a collection of works for trombone by Kaczmierz Sellocki, one of the leading composers of the early days of Polish contemporary music, In Polish music of the second half of the 20th century, Serocki's works are considered among the finest examples of the Polish School of Music, along with works by Bildt, Bacewicz, Lutoslawski, and others. The composer's legacy as a composer has already been recognized during his lifetime, as evidenced by the numerous Polish and international art prizes he has received and the constant inclusion of his works in the repertoire of Polish and international contemporary music festivals, including the "Warsaw Autumn" festival, of which Sellotzki was the initiator. The soloist, Wojciech Wojciech, will be a member of the orchestra. Wojciech Jelinski, the soloist, studied at the Paderewski Conservatory with Maciej Wacomi and at the Hans Eisler School of Music with Christophard Gessling (principal of the Berlin Philharmonic), graduating with honors. He studied at the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic with Olaf Ott (Principal of the Berlin Philharmonic) and since 2019 has held the position of first trombonist at the Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra. He has been invited to perform at prominent music festivals and events throughout Poland, including "Warsaw Autumn" and "Poznań Music Spring," and has premiered works by many contemporary composers, with a particular repertoire of 20th- and 21st-century music. Among Serocki's works, the Sonatina is one of the most important repertoire (this album includes two versions, one with orchestral accompaniment and one with piano accompaniment!) This is an excellent project by a label that boasts of its home in Poland, and condenses the charm of Sellotzki's trombone works, such as the Trombone Concerto and the Suite (Trombone Quartet), which requires technique and stamina, into a single disc.Sonatine has also been selected as the subject piece (second qualifying round in the trombone division) for the 2023 Japan Winds and Percussion Competition, so we recommend this piece as a reference sound source.
