Danish guitarist Jakob Bro has become one of the most important figures in contemporary jazz through his participation in Paul Motian's electric bebop band and his work with the Thomas Stanko Quintet. On his own albums, he has intermingled the beautiful musicality of Scandinavia with the frontline jazz of Brooklyn, New York, creating a unique world that has never existed before with Paul Motian. This album pushes his previous work forward and the result is a high quality and pleasant work. The quality and density of the rhythms by Paul Motian and Ben Street, the beautiful singing backed by the technique of Bill Frisell and Jacob Bro, and the lovely, haunting tones, all add to the new color of this album. And Lee Konitz is the new color of this work. The delicate and bold phrases that make you sigh with each note.The world that only Jacob Bro could create, where the advanced performance of jazz and the beautiful and comfortable sounds of ambient music coexist.
