Sheffield, England-based metalcore band Whilce Sleeps has released its sixth album, "Self-Help," which is influenced by a variety of sounds and incorporates vintage synths. Self-Help", their sixth album, is released, created under the influence of diverse sounds and incorporating vintage synths and more. Utilizing a broader palette of influences to create a sound that is a collage of each member's musical passions, SELF HELL feels like the second debut album from a band that has become an important part of the past decade. This new While She Sleeps holds no stone unturned and is unpredictable. The riffs are as heavy as ever, and the album draws from a more diverse range of influences, including Aphex Twin, Gorillaz, Bicep, The Prodigy, and Kendrick Lamar. Therefore, "SELF HELL" incorporates a wider range of instruments, especially vintage synths such as the Korg MS-20 and Behringer TD-3. And just as important is their attitude: the members of While She Sleeps all grew up in the mining villages around Sheffield and remember how Britpop surrounded their environment in their youth. That working-class vibe informs the album's defiant "nothing to lose, everything to gain" spirit. The name of the album is the foundation of how we see ourselves and the world. Everyone has a subjective experience that others do not. Despite this, the one constant that unites us is the differences between us, and the fact that we all suffer from each one. Therefore, we should not be quick to criticize or see ourselves as evil. The time for sin and redemption will come. We have been influenced by artists outside of the sound that is categorized as While She Sleeps, and each member of the band is from a different genre. Each member draws inspiration from different perspectives that are far removed from the genre, resulting in a very strange but satisfying sound.While She Sleeps will keep the world guessing as to what we will do next. Not only for our fans, but this is a spiritual occupation that we must keep alive, keep moving, keep in constant flux. We threaten ourselves by doing things we shouldn't be doing. Every day," says Sean Long (G). SELF HELL was produced by their longtime collaborator Carl Bown and the band's guitarist, Sean Long. It was completed by members Lawrence 'Loz' Taylor (Vo), Mat Welsh (G), Aaran Mckenzie (B), and Adam Savage (Dr). Recording took place at Metropolis studio in London, Treehouse studio in Chesterfield, and the band's own studio, Six Audio, in Sheffield.
