The Double String Quartet, Piano Quintet, and String Quartet with Doric Melody are new recordings! This 12-CD box contains orchestral pieces, in which Respighi's popular works are concentrated, and chamber and piano pieces with unexpected charm. The good news is that in this set, three chamber pieces, including a rare double string quartet, appear for the first time in sound recordings. The Double String Quartet in D major is a beautiful piece full of delicious melodies, a must for Italian lovers.Incidentally, in the score, the first violin, second violin, first viola, and first cello are separated from the top by the third violin, fourth violin, second viola, and second cello, giving the impression that it is a string quartet x 2, and in fact, each part is highly independent. The Symphonieorchester di Roma, which performs in 8 of the 12 CDs, is an organization that was established in 2001 by the "Ottorino Respighi Symphony Orchestra" funded by the European Parliament to train excellent orchestra musicians, and after several dozen performances, it has turned into a professional orchestra. The group is a group of motivated musicians who love Respighi as much as anyone else. The chamber music and piano pieces were all performed by Italians, and the way they made the melodies sing and their exquisite intonation could only come from people whose everyday language is recitative. The music is absolutely baroque. The orchestral works were recorded from 2009 to 2012, the chamber music from 2024, the violin music from 2013, and the piano music from 2014, all in Italy. The 12 CDs have a total recording time of approximately 849 minutes (14 hours and 9 minutes). The box specifications are of the general left-opening type, with an easy-to-handle size of 130 mm (H), 130 mm (W), 32 mm (D), and 314 grams (W).The booklet is not included, and track listings and performance/recording data can be found on the back of each paper jacket.
