Description:
FOCUS 12" is the first new studio album by the leading Dutch progressive rock band in six years, and is also available in LP format. FOCUS 12" was released in '24, the first new studio album after the transfer to Spirit Of Unicorn Music in the UK and the first new album in 6 years since their last release. This is a limited analog edition. As on the previous album, in addition to members from the 70's such as Thijs van Leer and Pierre van der Linden (drs), the album features Menno Gootjes (g) who used to play in the death metal band THRENODY, jazz bass player Udo Pannekeet (drs) who joined the band on the previous album, and the band's first member from the 70's, Thijs van Leer (drs). Pannekeet (b), a jazz bass player who has joined the band since the last album. Menno and Udo, two new faces in the band, produced and composed some of the songs on this album.The same musicality that has been common in their works since their revival in 2002, a return to a fresh rock sound reminiscent of the golden age of the 70's mixed with new innovations that suggest an approach to contemporary jazz, has been carried over to this album as well, and perhaps due to the production by the "younger" members as mentioned above, it is the first studio album by FOCUS While retaining the "FOCUS style" that has been built up so far, it also includes some ambitious attempts to break the framework by introducing new blood, making it a powerful work that is suitable for heralding a new chapter for FOCUS!
