From Kagel to Shuko Morishita! A collection of contemporary clarinet works! This collection includes clarinet works by composers of various generations and origins. With the exception of Kergel, who is included last, the works are influenced not a little by the so-called "new complexity" of music in the vein of European avant-garde music. The album is full of aggressive works that overwhelm the listener with special clarinet techniques and superb virtuosity that seem to challenge the limits of the instrument's possibilities. Shuko Morishita of Japan graduated from the University of the Arts and is currently a graduate student at the University of Huddersfield in England, where she studied composition with Aaron Cassidy as of 2017. A winner of the Japan Contemporary Music Society Composition Competition and the Toru Takemitsu Composition Award, she is a promising hope for the future. Tobu Land System
