Rohan de Saram, who plays the great cello works of modern and contemporary music cellist Rohan de Saram is a renowned cellist in the field of contemporary music and a member of the Ardetti Quartet He studied under Casado at the age of 11 and also studied with Casals and Barbirolli. Casado's "Requiemeros" was written for his teacher Casals. Rohan de Saram says he also heard Casado himself perform this piece many times. Falla and Ravel were close friends of Cassado, and the other composers in the program are also well known to him. Toshio Hosokawa's "Lied III" was premiered by Rohan de Saram and Junko Yamamoto at the 2010 Takefu International Music Festival. King International
