1999 DJ TOOL" is a double vinyl release of selected eight iconic tracks from the first album "1999" by Cassius, a legendary unit in the French electronic world, all reconstructed in DJ-friendly long versions only. Cassius is a French electronic unit consisting of Philippe Zdar and Boombass. As a representative act of the "French Touch" dance music movement from France, they were popular alongside Daft Punk and others from the late 1990s to the early 2000s (Zdahl passed away suddenly in 2019). The 1999 DJ TOOL, consisting of DJ-friendly long-form versions of eight songs from their 1999 debut album, 1999, is now available on double vinyl. The album includes the UK Top 20 hit "1999" sampling Donna Summer, the funky "Feeling for You" with its Gwen McRae bass line, "La Mouche" spun by Daft Punk and 2 MANY DJS, and "Foxxy," a clever weave of "Foxy Brown," among others. Foxxy" and other well-known classics come vividly to life in club-ready versions! Cassius has blossomed as an album artist, but their roots are still in the floor.This is a must-have release for fans to enjoy the essential appeal of a legendary act that has made a significant contribution to the French dance music scene. Boom Bass, a member of the band, contributes liner notes.
