Description:

The world fell in love with the New Romantics, the pop legends who have been making new "pop" music with cutting-edge art and the latest technology since the 80's. Duran Duran's first five albums are now back on CD and analog LP! After working on side projects, Roger Taylor and Andy Taylor left the band during the recording process, and Duran Duran decided to pursue a new musical path. The album "NOTORIOUS", which was produced by Nile Rodgers, has been reissued as an analog LP with the original artwork reproduced as much as possible! Duran Duran, a pop legend who has been creating new "pop" music using cutting-edge art and technology since the 1980s, ignited the New Romantic Movement of the 1980s and has sold over 80 million records, 18 U.S. chart-topping singles, and a number of UK Top 30 hits. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 and released his latest album "Danse Macabre" in 2023. He is an active artist who continues to be active today. Duran Duran's early works will be reissued on CD and analog LP! The five albums to be reissued are Duran Duran's 1981 debut album "Duran Duran", 1982's "Rio", 1983's "Seven and the Ragged Tiger", 1986's "Notorious", and 1988's "Big Thing". Each album uses the latest remastered sound sources, and the album artwork has been recreated as much as possible from the original releases under the supervision of Malcolm Garrett, the designer who created the artwork for the first three albums. The analog LP masters were also newly cut at Abbey Road Studios. Formed in 1978 in Birmingham, central England, Duran Duran was the band that sparked the New Romantic movement of the 1980s and became a representative of that movement. The band was a hit during the MTV boom of the time, and their good looks and the convincing stylishness of their art school-educated members won them a large fan following not only in their native England, but also in Japan. The band's name is based on the villain "Dr. Durand-Durand" who appears in the science fiction film "Barbarella" (1968) starring Jane Fonda. The band debuted with "Planet Earth" in February 1981, and their first album, "Duran Duran", reached #3 in the UK album charts.
