Since his debut in 1992, he has received numerous international honors and accolades, including the Django d'Or Award in his home country of Sweden. In addition to his solo works, he has released a multifaceted body of work, including collaborations with singer Viktoria Tolstoy, the great writer and Tolstoy's granddaughter, and trio albums such as "Wanderlust" (2022).As the title suggests, their latest album, WINTER STORIES, is a collection of various soundscapes representing winter all in one. Produced by Carlsen and Lars Nielson (Avishai Cohen, etc.), WINTER STORIES was mixed at NILENTO STUDIO, Lars Nielson's studio south of Gothenburg. On this album, Carlsson uses his own imagination and a Stanway D grand piano to masterfully capture the harsh cold of a Scandinavian winter, and his resolute naturalistic approach and impressive dynamic range beautifully capture this emotional time of solitude, contemplation, and melancholy. The album includes standard and traditional winter and holiday numbers such as "Silent Night," Bulgaria's "Bel Veter Due," and "The First Noel," as well as Carlson's original "Winterballad," a sombre ballad by Taylor Swift, and "The First Noel. The album also includes a cover of Taylor Swift's sad ballad "Evermore" and other winter-inspired tunes. (1/2)
