Jellyfish, the legendary band of Andy Sturmer and Roger Manning who created some of the most sublime pop music of the MTV era, have released a box set compiling their 7" releases! Although Jellyfish was a fleeting presence in the music industry, they released two albums in the early 90's (including the single featured here), and their legend is still very much alive almost 30 years after their work first hit the record store shelves. The talents of vocalist/guitarist Andy Sturmer and multi-instrumentalist Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (now a member of Beck's band) have created some of the most sublime pop music of the MTV era with their microscopic arrangements and witty lyrics. Jellyfish's two albums, "Bellybutton" and "Spilt Milk," made it clear that Sturmer and Manning were the leaders of the album band.However, their keen knowledge of the structure of pop and the fine details they apply to each song make Jellyfish undeniably a singles band as well, which is why viewing them through a series of seven 7-inch releases makes even more sense. When These Memories Fade is the first vinyl box set to focus on the lesser-known singles of a band with a devoted worldwide fan base. Produced by Roger Manning Jr. and featuring the original US 7" singles (all specially remastered), the set also includes a bonus track, "The Last of the Souls," which is the band's first single to be released on vinyl. Also included as a bonus only on this set is a tribute 7" to Harry Nilsson, the last song recorded by the band. Also included is a 64-page booklet (featuring a written essay by Maura K. Johnston, track-by-track interviews and recollections by former members, never-before-seen photos, rare memorabilia, promotional items, and more) and a 3D poster/custom Jellyfish 3D glasses are included. Complete first-run limited edition.
