The first in a series of brilliant and dazzling works from Dresden's court at the same time as the great Bach was active in Weimar and Leipzig is the "Overture. The composers involved created works that made the most of their orchestral capabilities. Most of them feature singers in the leading roles, but they also reflect the virtuosity of the instrumentalists, making them highly enjoyable to listen to.
