Howard Jones' new album "Transform" Howard Jones is known as a pioneer of electronica and one of the best melody makers and songwriters on the pop scene. In 2019, the 35th anniversary of his debut album "Hide and Seek," which was a worldwide hit with its warm, friendly, human sound and sincere message while utilizing the most advanced synthesizers of the time, will be celebrated, and his first new pop album in 10 years (as a collection of original songs, it was released in The new album "Transform" will be the first new pop album in 10 years (since "Engage", a crowdfunded album in 2015). Each time I've made an album, I've tried something new and experimental, but when I came back to synths like this, it was like I'm back on the road. But when I go back to synths like this, I feel very at home. Fans have been asking me to make another synth album like the old ones, and I guess I subconsciously responded to that. It was a lot of fun to make." As Howard himself says, "Transform" is a return to his roots, a return to melodic pop songs with his trademark synth-filled arrangements, a return to his constant trial and error and innovation in music.Included among the songs are "Hero In Your Eyes" and "Eagle Will Fly Again," written for the 2016 film "Eagle Jump/Eddie The Eagle. Howard says that the year 1988, the year depicted in the film, coincided with his rise to the top of the international music scene, and that helped a lot in the songwriting process. Both songs have an 80s flavor," Howard said. The sound I used in writing 'Hero In Your Eyes' was the same sound I used in my one-man electro shows in the early '80s. The song was only used in the film and was never released, but Howard re-recorded and re-mixed the song to create an album version that is more in tune with today's sensibilities. At the same time, Howard collaborated with electronica genius BT (Brian Transeau) on three songs, including the album title track "Transform. As Howard himself says, "He has been a great inspiration and influence on me," the three songs they collaborated on are all new interpretations of Howard's trademark compositional style, and clearly convey the "sensibilities of the current era".
