"Dances" 2'47 Performer Giuseppe Tacconia (Piano) Recorded: February 24, 2024, Molfetta, Italy,DIG Area Studio French composer Gabriel Dupont [1878-1914], known for his piano collection "A Time of Sickness," which he wrote while recuperating in a sanatorium, died of tuberculosis at the age of 36. In Arcachon, he composed a collection of piano pieces, "The House on the Dune," between 1908 and 1909. In addition to "The House on the Dune," which has a dreamy and hopeful tone, this album includes stylish pieces from his days at the Paris Conservatory, when he was still in good health. The binding is in digipak format, and the booklet (English, 8 pages) includes a commentary by Tacconia. The score opens with words from Nietzsche As if to indicate Dupont's recovery, the score opens with Zarathustra's words from "Thus Spoke Zarathustra": "The clear sky and the great sea are all to myself. These words were uttered by Zarathustra, who overcame many hardships, and they must have resonated with Dupont, who had been suffering for a long time due to health problems. Beautiful seaside life The rhythms of the waves, the morning light, the pine trees swaying in the evening breeze, the waves at night, the sailboat sails spreading across the surface of the sea, the ever-changing sky, the wind blowing through the trees, the sunlight and the ever-changing sparkle of the waves, are all evoked in "The House on the Dune," showing the figure of a lone occupant of a dune house. The music, with its rich chromatic harmony, is dramatic and playful, exciting and moving. Dupont Researcher Giuseppe Tacconia, the performer, is an Italian pianist who specializes in Romantic and late-Romantic repertoire, including Liszt and Rachmaninoff.
