A masterpiece by a composer who lived through the upheavals of the French Revolution and died prematurely at the age of 24. Born into a family of French musicians, Jassant Jadin began composing at the age of 8 and was such a prodigy that his works were performed at the famous "Concert Spiritsuelle" at age 13. Thereafter, for 11 years until his death at the age of 24 from tuberculosis, he was active as a pianist and composer during the turbulent years of the French Revolution, writing works with a rich individuality that was in a league with Schubert and Dushek. Marek Toporowski, whose essay in the booklet introduces Jadin's life and works, plays a Paul McNulty-built Anton Walter model fortepiano. About the work Jadin's piano sonatas are characterized by their lyricism and delicacy, especially in the slow movements, which often explore more introspective and meditative themes, but also by their virtuosity, with many of the faster movements featuring complex passagework and figurations that require the performer to use The fast movements are often characterized by complex passagework and figuration, demanding a high level of technical skill from the performers. ＜Marek Toporowski (fortepiano) was born in Warsaw on March 19, 1964. He is a specialist in historical keyboard instruments such as harpsichord, organ, and fortepiano, and in recent years has also been conducting. Toporowski studied organ and harpsichord at the local Warsaw Music Academy. After graduation, he went on to the Conservatory of Strasbourg, where he graduated with first prizes in organ and harpsichord, and the Saarland Conservatory in Saarbrücken, where he received a diploma as a performer. He also studied organ improvisation in Amsterdam under the tutelage of Bob van Asperen and at the Academy of Music in Katowice. During this time, he won a prize at the first Wanda Landowska National Cembalo Competition in Krakow in 1985, and began his performance career in earnest as a soloist and chamber musician. As an educator, she has been teaching harpsichord and historical performance practice at the Academy of Music in Katowice since 2008, organ and harpsichord at the F.
