◆Concerto Quartet, Op.22 (tracks 6-9), composed in 1956 for John Williams and students of the Royal College of Music, London, in composition for solo guitar and string trio (violin, viola and cello). Duarte decided on Segovia's advice to use a string trio instead of a string quartet. The first movement, in which a quotation from the folk song "Barbara Allen" is heard, features an impressive guitar cadenza. The second movement is a Siciliana with Renaissance-style material. The third movement was later arranged into the popular piece "Badinelli" for the guitar duo "Presti Lagoya". The fourth movement is full of variety and surprises us with the appearance of the children's song "Hot Cross Buns". ◆Jolly Concerto, Op.101 (tracks 10-12), composed for guitar duo of Venezuelan, Alfonso Montes, and German, Irina Kircher. The connection to Venezuela (Venezuela) is shown by quoting Antonio Lauro's waltz "La Negra". Instrumentation includes guitar duo, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, timpani, vibraphone, celesta, bongos, claves, congas, and tambourine.The soloist is a duet, and the orchestra is a chamber orchestra with lively percussion instruments, making this a work of great audio interest. ＜Antonio De Innocentis (guitar) was born in Naples in 1961, gave his first solo concert in 1980, and graduated with top honors from the Domenico Cimarosa Conservatory in Avellino in 1985. Winner of national and international guitar competitions, in 1992 he became the first guitarist in the world to perform Paganini's 24 Caprices in a single concert, and has since performed throughout Europe and the U.S. In October 1999, he performed in London at the John W. Born in 1987, Nicola Montella began classical guitar lessons at the age of 8.He holds degrees in education and performance from the Conservatory of Jezzardo da Venosa in Potenza and the Conservatory of Domenico Cimarosa in Avellino, and continued his studies at the International Academy of Music in Koblenz, Germany. His CDs are published by Brilliant Classics and D'Addario. ＜Gian Luigi Zampieri was born in Rome in 1965. He attended advanced courses at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome and the Conservatory of Chigiana in Siena, where he received an honorary diploma in 1988. In the meantime, in 1980, at the age of 15, he was chosen as one of the permanent organists of the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere in Rome, where he remained for 20 years until 2000. Zampieri was the last pupil of Franco Ferrara and had the opportunity to study with Giulini and Bernstein, as well as gaining much field experience as assistant to Rozhestvensky and Maazel, Filarmonica Brasov, and others.
