APR's "Tobias Massey School" series reissues recordings left behind by the students of Tobias Massey (1858-1945), a famous English piano teacher of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Following the highly acclaimed "Irene Joyce (APR 7502)" and "Harriet Cohen (APR 7304)" by historical fans, the third volume of the series features the famous pianist Irene Schaller (1888-1971), also known as Myra Hess' cousin! The third volume in the series, following "APR 7304", is a collection of "electric recordings" from 1925 to 1933, from Chopin, her specialty, to her last recording of Litolów, and a selection of "acoustic recordings", including a performance from 1912, 100 years ago, that will surely be treasured as valuable discs that will bring Irene Schaller's virtuosity into the 21st century.Historical fans should take note of this reissue!
