Two brothers united by a passion for music and a desire to honor their roots, this exceptional duo plays violin and cello in perfect harmony! Luca & Leo Ispil are French brothers (Luca Ispil on violin and Leo Ispil on cello) who have attracted attention for their advanced playing skills and rich musicality, performing at festivals and concerts throughout Europe. Luca Ispil is a young French violinist who first attracted attention when he competed in the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in 2024. He performed works by Bach, Schumann, Enescu, and Szymanowski, and was highly acclaimed for his technique and expressiveness. Leo Ispil was born in 2002 and began playing the cello at the age of 7. He studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMD) and since 2023 has been under the tutelage of Gary Hoffman at the Queen Elisabeth Music Foundation in Belgium.He has performed in France, Turkey, USA, Ukraine, Georgia, etc. and has won numerous international competitions! From Bach and Ravel to Fazil Say, we explored a diverse range of aesthetic sensibilities. In order to express ourselves to the fullest, it was essential that we encompass a wide range of styles. It was only natural that this album should include Ravel's Sonata, a masterpiece in the violin and cello repertoire. This piece resonates deeply with us and evokes memories of our first concert as a duo. Street of Memories, composed by Fazil Say, takes us directly to our Turkish roots. With this piece, we wanted not only to pay homage to our heritage, but also to contribute to the enrichment of the violin and cello repertoire (Luka & Leo Ispil). Warner Music Japan
