Their 1991 album *HOLIDAYS IN EDEN*, a mature masterpiece that marked the beginning of a new chapter following the arrival of new frontman Steve Hogarth, is being revived as a stunning picture disc vinyl featuring the 2022 remixed version! ◆Now celebrating 40 years since their formation, the British progressive rock band Marillion continues to captivate countless prog fans, particularly in the UK and Europe. Having led the British neo-progressive rock scene since the 1980s, they released *HOLIDAYS IN EDEN* (Japanese title: *Longing for Paradise*) in 1991. This marks their sixth studio album overall and their second album produced with current frontman Steve Hogarth. It is now being reissued as a stunning picture disc vinyl edition. ◆While much of the material for their previous album, *SEASON'S END*, had already been written before Steve Hogarth joined the band, *HOLIDAYS IN EDEN* was the first album created entirely from scratch after his arrival. The new lineup brought a fresh approach to the band, but at the same time, the band was under significant pressure from their label at the time, EMI, to produce radio-friendly singles that would appeal to a commercial audience. As a result, Chris Neill, known for his expertise in pop sounds, was brought in to produce the album; however, like the band members themselves, he reportedly wanted the album to retain the "typical Marillion sound" outside of the singles. The resulting *HOLIDAYS IN EDEN* became an album that included adult-oriented pop-rock singles like “No One Can” and “Dry Land,” while also featuring witty, moving rock numbers such as “The Party” and “This Town.” *HOLIDAYS IN EDEN*, which Hogarth is said to have called “the most pop-oriented album in Marillion’s history,” reached No. 7 on the UK Albums Chart. ◆This picture disc vinyl release features the 2022 remixes that were included on CD 1 of the album’s deluxe edition, released in 2022.
