My Bloody Valentine

My Bloody Valentine, the first of the shoegazers scheduled to visit Japan in 2026, is now available on a live album! My Bloody Valentine was formed in Dublin in 1983. The single "You Made Me Realize" and the album "Isn't Anything" were released on Creation in 1988 with the current members including guitarist Kevin Shields. The combination of roaring guitars and melodies and the US alternative taste represented by Hüsker Doe brought the band into the limelight. The legendary "Loveless," which took 18 engineers to occupy the studio for two and a half years, costing 250,000 pounds and nearly bankrupting the label, was released. The combination of layers of roaring sounds and sweet melodies, and Shields' guitar playing that utilizes noise and feedback, has created a new phase in the scene. His staring at the floor-mounted effectors became a kind of music genre called shoegaze, and created a category-defying culture that has had a tremendous influence to this day. After a long period of silence, he surprised the public with the release of "m b v" in 2013. As the band toured Europe after the release of "Isn't Anything," a gig at a live house in Lyon, France on March 21, 1989 was recorded and broadcast for a local RFI radio program. This live album was recorded and broadcasted for a local RFI radio program. The roar of the guitars and cymbals drown out the singing, which barely reaches the eardrums, yet the audience is whipped into a frenzy. The band also performed the "You Made Me Realize" noise turn that has become a familiar part of their live show. Unlike the Loveless period, Colm Okosak's punkish, forward drumming is featured, and it is interesting to hear occasional glimpses of the next album, such as "Soft as Snow (But Warm Inside)" and "Slow. The live album has never been officially released, so this is one that fans have been waiting for! Imported domestic edition with Japanese obi and bilingual liner notes in English. Kevin Shields (g, vo) Bilinda Butcher (g, vo) Debbie Guggi (b) Colm Okosak (ds)
