After Beck Bogart & Apis disbanded, Jeff Beck began working with renowned producer George Martin on a guitar instrumental album that introduced elements of jazz fusion music that was popular at the time, in order to pursue a new musical style. Blow By Blow" was released in 1975 and became a worldwide hit, earning Jeff Beck his first gold disc in the U.S. at the time. Jeff Beck liked the new album "Apocalypse" by the Mahavishnu Orchestra led by John McLaughlin, and asked George Martin, who was producing the album, to produce it. He also asked Max Middleton and Phil Cheng, who had joined the Jeff Beck Group, to join the band, and Richard Bailey joined via Max Middleton, and recording began in October 1974. The resulting album, "Blow by Blow (Triumph of the Guitar Killer)" was released on March 29, 1975.The album becomes Jeff Beck's best-selling album to date, reaching No. 4 on the U.S. album chart (No. 27 in Japan) and earning a platinum disc. It reached No. 4 on the U.S. album chart (No. 27 in Japan) and was awarded a platinum disc. With the release of this album, Jeff Beck began a U.S. tour with the Mahavishnu Orchestra on April 24 in Buffalo, New York. The May 3 performance in Boston, Massachusetts was recorded and broadcast for a special FM radio program to promote the album, and this live album was recorded during the broadcast. Since this was an instrumental performance, Jeff Beck's technical guitar playing explodes throughout the entire show. This is a rare live archive of the late Jeff Beck.
