Ian Wallace, the third drummer of King Crimson, has been involved in a variety of session activities since the band broke up. After moving his base of activities to the U.S., he played in Bob Dylan's backing band and played with a wide variety of musicians in various genres. In 2004, he joined forces with Tim Landers, a talented session bassist who had played in the bands of Al Di Meola and Billy Cobham, and Jody Nardone, an up-and-coming jazz pianist from New Jersey who was working in Nashville. The trio formed the "Crimson Jazz Trio" to express their unique interpretation of King Crimson's music. In 2005, they released their debut album, "The King Crimson Songbook - Vol. 1. The album, consisting of King Crimson songs released after Ian Wallace's time with the group, was highly acclaimed for giving new life to King Crimson's music. However, Ian Wallace was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 and passed away in February 2007.Before his death, he completed his second album "King Crimson Songbook - Vol. 2" with the support of current King Crimson members Mel Collins and Jacko Jaczyk, which will be released in 2009. The reissues of these two albums are now available in paper-jacketed versions!
