Description:
Former JAPAN bassist Mick Kern made a name for himself as a one-of-a-kind artist with his strange and original phrasing and melodic sense on the fretless bass. After the band's breakup, he continued to work energetically as a solo artist, collaborating with and supporting many musicians, and left behind many masterpieces. In the mid-1980s, Mick Kahn was in a period of great stagnation, but through his sessions with David Tone, he discovered the pure joy of music that was not bound by his own genre or style, and from the early 1990s, his expressive activities began to explode. In 1993, he signed a contract with the German jazz label CMP, and his third solo album, "Vestal Cluster," was released in October of the same year. The album, which boldly introduces electric sounds and develops a heavy, jazz-rock sound, features songs that demonstrate his various multi-instrumental abilities, including vocals, keyboards, and woodwinds in addition to bass, as well as a new solo album by Richard Barbieri (ex-JAPAN). Richard Barbieri (kbds) and Steven Jansen (ds) also participate. The presence of the aforementioned David Tone also adds to the album. Long-awaited paper-jacket re-release of the album, which has been out of print for many years! Imported domestic version with obi and commentary.
