Asagaya Romantics, a band that brings romantic pop music not only to Japan but to the rest of the world, has released their debut album "City Colors" in 2017, which is now available on vinyl for the first time in the world! This album is a groovy and nostalgic album that embeds African-rooted music such as rocksteady and reggae into the musicality of retro Showa-era Japanese pop to city pop! The album contains nine songs that are "pop" in nature, while containing a variety of musical elements, all with the vocals of Tomoe Arisaka, whose voice is so elongated that it makes you feel as if you are listening to a nostalgic melody! The album starts off with "Tokoromi," with its powerful wind instruments and groovy rhythm section, followed by "Road Light," with its reggae-tinged cutting guitar and simple 8-bit beat that sets the mood, and "Cobalt Blue," the fastest song on the album, with a refreshing feeling that makes you want to start riding your bike.
