Roy Porter, who released two rare groove classics in the 70's, "Inner Feelings" (blue vinyl) and "Jessica" (yellow vinyl), challenged the times with a new Sound Machine in 1994! The killer funk tracks "Panama" and "Party time," which have been featured as sampling sources on numerous occasions, have been reconstructed by Roy Porter himself, and the superb grooves are a must-hear! Roy Porter, who has been active in the US jazz scene for many years as a member of Charlie Parker's band, recorded "Inner Feelings" and "Jessica" with his band Sound Machine in the 70's. Both albums are renowned as rare groove classics. In 1994, Roy Porter reassembled these two albums with a new lineup, replacing some members of Sound Machine and adding "'94" under the name "Generation"! The album starts with "Generation" (M1), featuring rappers and retaining the feel and groove of the 70s,Mr. R.P. & Me (Vocal)" (M2), a poetry reading intertwined with the killer funk "Panama," which has been used as a sampling source for many songs, and "Slaughterhouse" (M5), a rap feature on "Party Time," also known as a sampling source. This historical masterpiece, which embodies the fusion of jazz and hip-hop that Robert Glasper and others have shown since the 2010s, was released 20 years ago and is now available in a new version!
