This is student band rare groove at its finest! A storm of jazz funk from the Cashmere High School Band in Houston, Texas in the 70's. The band's groove is so amazing you would never guess they were high school students! The songs, jacket design, sound quality, and all other aspects of this rare groove masterpiece are being reissued for the first time on LP, including 4 titles from the entire catalog. This is the 7th album released in 1974, the same year as the previous album "Plays Originals"! Starting with "Rhapsody In Blue" (A1), a standard cover by Gershwin with an arrangement that symbolizes the Cashmere Stage Band, which fused big band and funk,The Zero Point" (A3), an original composition by Conrad Johnson, is a hard-boiled funk tune with a thick brass section and a funky groove that crosses over into a big band style. In addition, "$$ Kash Register $$" ("B1") by "COLD FIRE", an intra-band band that emerged as an elite group in the latter years of the band, was released on Conrad Johnson's student Bubba Thomas' label, "Lightin'", after graduating from Cashmere High School. B1) is a must-hear killer jazz funk!
