This is student band rare groove at its finest! A storm of jazz funk from the Cashmere High School Band in Houston, Texas in the 70's. The band's groove is so amazing you would never guess they were high school students! The songs, jacket design, sound quality, and all other aspects of this rare groove masterpiece are being reissued for the first time on LP, including four titles from the entire catalog. This is a live recording released in 1973, when the Texas high school band toured Europe. The original song "Kashmere" (A3), with its tight drum break, is the first song on the album,The groovy bass leads the way on "Head Wiggle" (B3), a fast-moving funk tune, and "Shaft" (B1), the theme from the classic black-sploitation film "Black Jaguar," is a thrilling performance that surpasses the original on every track! This is the 5th album released in 1973 with the same quality as the studio recordings mixed with the tension of a live performance!
