The history of mankind has been a struggle against war and pestilence, regardless of whether the causes are man-made or not. Regardless of whether the causes are manmade or not, human beings have endlessly repeated their rise and fall in this vortex. The idea of reincarnation in the Buddhist cosmology has been nurtured by this reality on earth. The basic premise of reincarnation is the "heart of offerings," and I have put my offerings for all things into the "sound" of this piece, with the hope of a new world in mind. [Kifu Mitsuhashi (shakuhachi) studied the Kinko-ryu shakuhachi and Fuhaku shakuhachi classics under Kofu Sasaki, Takegai Okamoto, and Naoki Korikawa, and received the Japan Arts Festival Excellence Award in 1980 for his "First Shakuhachi Recital", the Osaka Cultural Festival Award in 1981, and the Japan Arts Festival Award for his solo recital in 1989. In 1992, he received the 10th Nakajima Kenzo Music Award, the Agency for Cultural Affairs Artistic Works Award for his solo CD "Bamboo Forest Kitan", and the Yokohama Culture Award Encouragement Award. 2009, he was appointed as a Cultural Exchange Envoy by the Agency for Cultural Affairs to perform in Brazil and Korea.In the same year, he was awarded the Grand Prize of the Arts Festival by the Agency for Cultural Affairs for "Kifu Mitsuhashi Shakuhachi Honkyoku Spatial Mandala: Trajectory of Resentment". In 2011, he received the Medal with Purple Ribbon; in 2012, he participated in the opening of the Imperial Palace Poetry Festival; in 2014, he received the Japan Arts Festival Excellence Award for his 3-CD set "Tokoden Mitani Kiyoshi Kifu Mitsuhashi Kifu"; in 2016, he performed at the Japan-China-Korea Culture Ministers Meeting held in Jeju Island, Korea; in 2020, he received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette. In 2020, he received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette. He has performed Toru Takemitsu's "November Steps" with the Deutsche Symphony Orchestra Berlin, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Saito Kinen Orchestra, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National de Lyon, and others. He has given 190 recitals in Japan and abroad. Developed and patented the "Noble Tube," a synthetic resin shakuhachi for popular use. He also developed the Uchina (Okinawan) Shakuhachi and obtained a utility model patent. Currently, he is studying the classical shakuhachi music of the old Kyoto Meienji Temple under Mr. Yasuyuki Sagara. He is currently producing a Japanese traditional music enlightenment project, "Demon's Japanese Traditional Music Restoration Collaboration," which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2020.
