Commentary
Toei's media mix series of film and theater, "Mubi x Ste", will add a new film to its lineup. It is "Bakumatsu without Honor and Honor without Bakumatsu".
A yakuza gangster from 2025 travels back in time to the end of the Edo period.
This new kind of period drama entertainment will be performed by young actors who are both brilliant and talented.
The two main characters, the yakuza Kyoji Murata and Ryoma Sakamoto, are played by Ryo Matsuda of "Sword Dance" and "Shinkage no Kyojin"-the Musical.
The other main character, Ippei Otomo, Kyoji's right-hand man, will be played by Takuma Wada of the stage "Sword Dance" and "Fullmetal Alchemist".
In their long-awaited first collaboration, Wada and Takuma passionately and muddily portray the drama of a man at the mercy of a strange fate, and the cast surrounding them includes young actors active in special effects heroes and 2.5-dimensional theater.
In addition, Ayame Tsuyoshi plays the role of Oryo, the wife of the heroine Ryoma.
Goriki, who has been steadily working her way up the acting ladder, breathes a dignified air into the bloody end-of-bakumatsu struggle, and is supported by a solid cast of veteran actors, including Yasukaze Motomiya as Takamori Saigou.
The staff is a first-time teaming of director Hashimoto Hajime ("Partners", "The Detective is in the Bar") and screenwriter Mori Nobuhiro ("Usuouki", "Fuuto Tantei The STAGE") to create a fusion of authentic period drama and science fiction fantasy.
History takes an unexpected turn when a man with a rising dragon tattoo on his back decides to live as "Sakamoto Ryoma.
The battle without honor and humanity between men that transcends time and space begins here. ......
