Description:
Tadaaki Otaka became the third Music Director of the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra in April 2018. The live CD of "Bruckner Symphony No. 8" performed at the inaugural concert was acclaimed as "the crystallization of Otaka's meticulous approach and the power of the Osaka Philharmonic's tradition. In the same year, the "Beethoven Symphony Concert" was praised as "the true value of a work is revealed beyond its performance style," and won the Osaka Cultural Award and the Kansai Music Critics Club Award. The opening piece of the new season in 2019 by these two musicians, who have made a great leap forward, was Mahler's lifetime masterpiece, "Symphony No. 9". The composer himself could not hear this work because the last bar of the work is marked "ersterbend" (as if to die out). Odaka/Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra will not stop at "Farewell," but will open up a new world that transcends individual hardships. FONTEC
