Active legends who have been shaking up the scene since SoCal The latest form is a blast-oriented chaotic sound that recalls the chaos of the early days of the band. Justin Pearson has been a driving force in the hardcore/alternative scene in San Diego and Southern California for over 30 years, first emerging in the early 90's with the now legendary SWING KIDS, then shaking things up with the masked-costumed THE LOCUST, and then surprising us with a supergroup-like lineup. In the early 90's, he emerged with the now legendary band SWING KIDS, whose masked costumes shook the times, while at the same time playing with SOME GIRLS, which surprised with its super-group-like lineup, and continuing to be prolific and hyperactive. In recent years, he has formed DEAD CROSS with Dave Lombardo and Mike Patton, and his vitality shows no sign of slowing down. Deaf Club is Justin's latest band, formed in 2019. They have already released a great number of EPs and splits on Three One G and Sub Pop, and their first album "Productive Disruption" was also full of chaos.The band is said to be "pursuing a direction closer to power violence/grindcore" due to the presence of ACxDC/RUN WITH THE HUNTED/FISSURE members in the band. The technical and dizzying development of the music is reminiscent of the chaotic hardcore of yesteryear, while also maintaining that design. The Japanese version of the album includes a cover of SWING KIDS "El Camino Crash" as a bonus track.
